Meetup Groups meet face-to-face to pursue hobbies, network, get support, make friends, find playgroups or even change the world.
Get on the Internet to get off the Internet!
You'll get invited to our Meetups as soon as they're scheduled!
“ We'll be meeting near the Nature Center. I drive a red Saturn Vue and my dogs are both red-nosed, red-brown pitties. ”
Join us the second Saturday of every month for an opportunity to socialize with other bully breed lovers, and of course, bring your dogs to socialize too! To keep things interesting, we'll be trying to chose a different park on different sides of town for each event, so tell us your favorite parks on our Meetup Venue Suggestions discussion on our message board.
We start every social meetup with a short introductions period to let our dogs size up everyone else. Just as you don't like every human you meet, not every dog likes every other dog that he or she meets. We're working to add a new page to our meetup group with information on how to best introduce your dog to a new social situation, and how to handle the occasionally less-friendly greeting, but in the meantime please e-mail LeAnn or Lisa (or speak to them at the event) if you have any questions.
Because our dogs and humans get bored waiting around for us to get going, we will make every effort to start our walks promptly at 15 minutes after the hour. Usually we'll walk for 30-45 minutes, depending on the preferences of the attendees. (If we have participants who want to walk/hike longer, of course you're welcome to do so!)
When we return to our starting point with some good & tired dogs, we'll make sure the dogs and humans cool off with some water and rest, then we'll spend 15-30 minutes playing a game (with prizes!) such as a speed sitting contest, a photo costume contest or something else that we hope our canines & humans will enjoy.
Please remember that dogs must be on-leash, under human control at ALL times. For additional information on what is expected of you and your canine, please read the Meetup Event Guidelines.
