5K Family & Pet Walk

Join FIDO at the 5th annual Walking for Dreams Family & Pet Walk on Sunday, May 18, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Walk the scenic 5K route along the Central Canal in downtown Indianapolis to support Friends of Indianapolis Dogs Outside's (FIDO) ongoing outreach work to improve the lives of outside dogs, especially chained dogs in low-income neighborhoods.

This is a great opportunity to bring the whole family out in support of a great cause. If you are unable to participate in the walk but would still like to help FIDO please click HERE to make a pledge to support the FIDO team. It?s easy for FIDO to receive credit, just select that you want to credit your donation to an organization (general donation) and then select Friends of Indianapolis Dogs Outside from the drop down list.

This is a great opportunity to participate in the most fun-filled event of the year! Everyone can take part, even if you don't have a pet to walk. FIDO volunteers will be bringing their foster dogs, many of whom were rescued from life on a chain. Walkers will be able to walk alongside the very dogs they will be helping. Entertainment in the works include a petting zoo, dove release, clowns, face-painting and much more!

And starting this year you will be able to register online at www.walkingfordreams.org and email your friends and family to solicit their support. Encourage your friends and family to sponsor you and help us reach our goal of raising $5,000 to help chained dogs. You can choose to walk as an individual, as a pack, or join the FIDO team. A pack is a team of 3 or more people who raise pledges and walk together, with or without a pet. You can gather your friends, family, co-workers, fellow dog-pack members, anyone to form a group and walk together! All the money raised by this event will go directly toward FIDO outreach work to improve the lives of chained dogs.
